These Islands produce a staggering, 350 to 360 days of glorious sunshine each year with average daily temperature highs of 25°C (77 °F) to 29°C (84.2 °F). The average daily temperature highs come throughout the months of January to September slowly increasing along the way.

Aspects of the Cape Verde Weather & Climate

As already mentioned the Cape Verde Islands are made up of a number of individual islands, each one having its own slightly different climate. The reason for this difference in climate is mainly due to the individual terrains that you will find on the islands as well as their locations in the sea.  For example; Boa Vista has a dryer more tropical climate with lower levels of humidity and average daily temperatures of 20°C (68°F) to 29°C (84°F).  Lows of 20°C (68°F) coming in December/January and Highs of 29°C (84°F) in July/August. Sunshine Hours ~ on Cape Verde
The Cape Verde Weather has averages hours of sunshine ranging from 6 to 11 hours daily. The months of August to October will give you between 6 – 9 hours and November through to July there will be between 9 and 11 hours. Air Temperatures ~ on Cape Verde
The Cape Verde Climate varies throughout the islands as does the temperature. Average yearly air temperatures for Cape Verde range from 20°C (68°F) to 29°C (84°F). The flatter islands such as Sal and Sao Vicente can reach temperatures over 40°C (104°F), whereas the higher more mountainous islands such as Santo Antao can drop below 10°C (50°F). Sea Temperatures ~ on Cape Verde
When combining the Cape Verde Weather and Sea Temperatures around the islands, it makes an ideal place for almost any water-sport, but none more so than Scuba diving. With ocean water temperatures ranging from between 22°C (72°F) to 27°C (81°F), it makes for a very pleasant diving experience whilst also creating a maritime temperate climate. With average water temperature of 24°C (75°F) throughout the year and crystal-clear waters, you have comfort and visibility whilst unearthing magical coloured reefs and beautifully coloured fish. Rainy Season ~ on Cape Verde
The Weather in Cape Verde has two main seasons – a dry season and a wet season. The dry season is throughout November and July and the wet season between August and October. The wet season is not like that of a normal wet season as Cape Verde only averages around 1mm of rain daily throughout its rainy season. Windy Season ~ on Cape Verde
The Cape Verde Weather also manages an unofficial, windy season and this comes between late October and early June. These winds come from the Sahara and are known as the “Harmatten” which means “dry hot winds”. These are the winds that make the Weather in Cape Verde ideal for wind sports such as windsurfing and kite surfing. These are also known as the trade winds and have made the Cape Verde Islands an ideal stop off point for trading cargo ships. Humidity Levels ∼ on the Cape Verde
Islands Humidity levels on the Cape Verde Islands are very typical of  what you could expect of islands in their geographical location couple by the annual climate. Humidity levels are shown as a percentage and this ranges from 68% through to 76% all year round. The lower levels come in Dec, Jan and February and the higher levels come between the months of May to October.
