As already mentioned the Cape Verde Islands are made up of a number of individual islands, each one having its own slightly different climate. The reason for this difference in climate is mainly due to the individual terrains that you will find on the islands as well as their locations in the sea. The Cape Verde Weather has averages hours of sunshine ranging from 6 to 11 hours daily. The months of August to October will give you between 6 – 9 hours and November through to July there will be between 9 and 11 hours. Air Temperatures ~ on Cape Verde
The Cape Verde Climate varies throughout the islands as does the temperature. Average yearly air temperatures for Cape Verde range from 20°C (68°F) to 29°C (84°F). The flatter islands such as Sal and Sao Vicente can reach temperatures over 40°C (104°F), whereas the higher more mountainous islands such as Santo Antao can drop below 10°C (50°F). Rainy Season ~ on Cape Verde
The Weather in Cape Verde has two main seasons – a dry season and a wet season. The dry season is throughout November and July and the wet season between August and October. The wet season is not like that of a normal wet season as Cape Verde only averages around 1mm of rain daily throughout its rainy season. Windy Season ~ on Cape Verde
The Cape Verde Weather also manages an unofficial, windy season and this comes between late October and early June. These winds come from the Sahara and are known as the “Harmatten” which means “dry hot winds”. These are the winds that make the Weather in Cape Verde ideal for wind sports such as windsurfing and kite surfing. These are also known as the trade winds and have made the Cape Verde Islands an ideal stop off point for trading cargo ships. Wind speeds average between 8 knots (9.2m/h) and 14 knots (16m/h). Humidity Levels ∼ on the Cape Verde

The Cape Verde Islands have two main seasons – a dry season and a wet season. The dry season is in the months of November through to July and the wet season between August to October. The wet season is not like that of a normal wet season as Cape Verde only averages around 1mm of rain daily throughout its rainy season.
Even though there are seen to be two seasons, the Cape Verde Climate tends to be warm and dry all year round.
The wet or rainy season in Cape Verde often produces very little rain but when it does it is usually between August and October. Islands with higher altitudes such as Santo Antao can also get rain in the later months of December, January and February. This is due to the Northeast Trade Winds.
Rainfall is so irregular, that it is still possible to get periodic droughts, which can often cause food and water shortages.
The Cape Verde Island of Sal, which is currently the holidaymakers favourite is one of the Islands that gets the least amount of rain with the average rainfalls as low 0.01 for April, May and June. When it does rain it can often be a downpour that delivers over 50% of its total annual rainfall in one go. When this happens locals and expats alike can be seen dancing in the streets.
Although the rainfalls are rare, the amount each Island receives can vary quite dramatically considering their relatively close proximately from one another. Rainfalls can vary from 5mm to 850mm throughout the islands.

Humidity Level is the term used for measuring the amount of water vapour in the air and as such is normally measured and displayed as a percentage (%).
Cape Verde Humidity Levels are what would be expected of islands located in this geographical location. The average monthly humidity range is from 68% through to 76%. The lower levels will be in Dec, Jan and February whilst the higher levels will come between May to October.
